&OAK | Strategy, Positioning and Craft for Growing Brands

I built Mattel's brands. Now I build yours. &OAK — Strategy, Positioning and Craft.

From Mattel to your business

Better decisions before better marketing.

For ten years I helped build some of the world’s most recognized consumer brands at Mattel. &OAK isn’t another creative or ads agency. It’s a strategic partner, led personally by founder Alexander Cadena, that helps ambitious leaders make better brand decisions and turn that clarity into growth.

A direct conversation about your business, where it’s headed, and what it’ll take to get there.

Why &OAK exists

A decade inside Mattel taught me how real brands get built.

For ten years, I worked across some of the world’s most recognized brands, products, and consumer categories. That decade taught me the strongest brands are rarely the result of one clever campaign. They’re built through a series of deliberate decisions: a clear read on the customer, a meaningful position in the market, and the discipline to carry that vision through everything the business does.

I founded &OAK to bring that thinking to ambitious companies whose potential has begun to outgrow the way they’re positioned. My job isn’t to make a business look better. It’s to help its leaders see the opportunity more clearly, make stronger decisions, and build a brand that carries the company into what comes next.

Every engagement is led personally by me, from the first conversation to the final decision. When the scope calls for it, I bring in senior talent to drive growth at scale. Never junior handoffs. Because every engagement is led personally, &OAK takes on a limited number of new partnerships each month.

The challenge

Growth gets harder when the business is moving faster than the brand.

The company evolves. Capabilities deepen, the audience grows, ambitions expand, but the position, the message, and the customer experience don’t always keep up. Marketing fragments. Teams start working from different versions of the same story.

This usually doesn’t call for more activity. It calls for better decisions.

Better brands begin with better decisions.

How I work

Strategy. Positioning. Craft.

Three connected disciplines. Clarifying what the business should stand for, where it can create real value, and how that idea shows up in the market.

Strategy

We look at the business, audience, category, and opportunity to set a clear direction: where to focus, what to prioritize, and what to become known for.

Positioning

We define the distinct, valuable place the business should hold in customers’ minds — the reason it deserves to be chosen.

Craft

We turn that conviction into a distinctive brand experience — identity, messaging, packaging, website, and campaigns that all say the same thing.

Not three separate services. One connected system, from decision through expression.

Who this is for

For builders entering their next stage of growth.

You might be:

  • Entering a new stage of growth
  • Repositioning around a bigger opportunity
  • Launching a new product, service, or category
  • Growing beyond the reputation you started with
  • Investing in marketing without confidence in the direction
  • Carrying a brand that no longer reflects the quality of the business

If your ambitions have started to outgrow the way the business is positioned or presented, we should talk.

following a strategic repositioning
“What I appreciated most was having the space to slow down and really think through the business. The strategy connected the dots between the work we do, the name on the brand, and the promise we’re making to customers. It gave us a clearer direction and a path we can build on for years, not just the next season. Since then, the business has grown, revenue has followed, and it’s been encouraging to see how well people are responding to the new product line.”
